Maple Fest Weekday Visits

WEEKDAY GROUP VISITS FOR 2023

Group Package Options

• Reservation is required for a weekday visit. We do not accept any walk-ins for our weekday MapleFest.
• Available with a reservation & applicable on children group reservation = children size portion
• A fun, safe, and educational outing
• Allow a minimum of 1.5 hrs to a maximum of 4 hours at the farm
• For children's birthday parties, contact us for reservations and information

IN PERSON WEEKDAY VISIT

Available to groups (35ppl or more)

All packages include:

• Guided tour on maple syrup production, collection of sap with pails and pipeline, and our wood-burning fire. Approx. 20 min.
• Hay ride pulled by a tractor from the farm through the old maple forest to the sugar shack and back. Approx. 25 min.
• Petting farm inside the old century barn. Touch, feed, and learn.
• Hay play structures.
• Giant slide and double slide (snow pants are needed).
• Play parks and structures
• Snow packed walking nature trails
• Heated indoor eating area included with meal packages 2a to 6b. Max. time 40min.
• Coffee and tea (for adults only), included in meal packages 2a to 6b
• Real 100% maple syrup included in meal packages 2a to 6b
• No charge for 1 adult (teacher, parent/volunteer) per every 15 children. Additional adults will be admitted at 50% rebate if added to your total payable (no rebate on individual payment).

• All meals are buffet-style, table service served with help from your volunteers (table service not included).
• All allergies and/or dietary restrictions, we must be notified in writing, within 10 days of your visit date at no extra cost. We can accommodate gluten, dairy, egg and meat dietary restrictions with appropriate substitutions. No substitutions other than listed available.
• Prices are per person and are subject to change without notice.
• Special needs groups, please contact us for additional details.
• Prices applicable on groups of 20+ people with reservation (surcharge may apply for groups less than 20).
• You must purchase the same package for each member of your group. No exceptions.

VIRTUAL TOURS

No need to leave your classroom. Cannot come and visit us this year? Why not do a live virtual tour instead?

• Duration is approximately 45 minutes.
• A fun, safe, and educational tour of our century old sugar bush.
• Available dates: Any Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between March 11 and April 15, 2021
  • Morning and afternoon visits available.

What we are including:

• The presentation starts with the introduction to the Proulx family. Did you know that 4 generations of Proulx have lived on the Farm? We have been operating the farm since 1920! (5 minutes)
• Guided tour on the collection of sap with pails and pipeline. See how the past generation collected the sap and how we do it now. (15 minutes)
• Guided tour on the maple syrup production. How we transform the sap we have collected into maple syrup. (15 minutes)
• Q&A after the virtual tour. (15 minutes)

• Pre-made individually packaged taffy made 100% pure maple syrup
  • Cost for 20g (Small): $2.75 each + HST
  • Cost for 30g (Large): $3.75 each + HST
  • Delivery available for the Ottawa/Gatineau region. (Extra cost)
  • Coolers available for rental, filled with ice packs for those who do not have access to a freezer.
    • Cost: $20 + $50 deposit which will be returned once our cooler is returned in the same condition as it was provided.
    • Rental is for a 48-hour period. Must either be returned or arrangements to be made for pickup.
• Individually Packaged Lollipop
  • Cost: $1.50 each + HST
  • Delivery available for the Ottawa/Gatineau area. (Extra cost)
• Mixed Maple Candies
  • Cost: $1.75 each + HST
  • Choice of: lollipop, maple sugar leaf (20g), maple sugar cone or maple taffy cone.
  • Delivery available for the Ottawa/Gatineau area. (Extra cost)

IN SCHOOL VISIT - LET US COME TO YOU

No need to leave your classroom. Cannot come and visit us this year? Why not let us help you with your event

• Duration: Depends on the amount people to serve. We can serve approx.1 class per 15min.
• Available dates: Any Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between March 11 and April 15, 2023
• Morning and afternoon visits available.

What we are including:

• We come fully prepared. We bring our own tables, garbages, stovetop, etc.
• We ideally require access to one power plug but can work without it if needed.
• Guided tour on how we transform our maple syrup into taffy on snow
• Setup and takedown.

Accessibility

We welcome all visitors. Proulx Farm would appreciate being notified of such required special services prior to your visit. Please note, as a working farm, the terrain is snow-packed and can be uneven in spots. Only for take outs, the brunch cabin is wheelchair accessible. We also have a specially designed wagon for your enjoyment, when available.
